FAQ

When is the RSVP deadline?

The RSVP deadline will be provided alongside the formal invitation.

We hope you can join us, but if you already know you can’t make it, please let us know!

Are children invited?

We’d love for your children to join us for the wedding weekend. While the weekend will be child-friendly, children will not be able to attend the wedding events.

We will provide babysitters through the hotel. If you prefer to bring your own childcare, please let Mary or Ian know.

What does "formal" attire mean?

For men: Ian will wear a tuxedo, and guests are welcome to wear tuxedos if they wish! Suit and tie also welcome.

For women: we recommend midi or floor length dresses. Many events will be outside (weather permitting) with grass / gravel, so keep that in mind for shoes.

Are events outdoors?

Weather permitting, the welcome dinner Friday and the wedding ceremony / dinner on Saturday will be held outdoors.

What is the weather like in Baux-de-Provence in May?

Late May is generally sunny and warm during the days, between 70 - 80 degrees.

However, mornings and late evenings can get a bit chilly (in the high 50s). We recommend women bring a sweater or shawl!

Should I rent a car?

You won’t need a car for wedding activities, but if you’d like to drive to visit different towns in the region, a car would be useful.

We’d recommend renting a small car - the roads to Baumanière are reasonable, but village roads and parking can be tight!

Do I need any specific documents for travel to France?

Please ensure your passport will be valid for at least 3 months (6 months recommended) following your return to the US.

I’ve never been to Provence - what should I do while I’m there?

See “Things to Do” page - we’ve included some of our favorite Provence activities!

Baumanière also has multiple pools, a tennis court, a pétanque court, a spa / fitness center, a playground for kids, and goats (i.e., cabros).
